The Old Town Salsa Fiesta in Albuquerque New Mexico has grown from a very small event to a great party. This lively fiesta will be on September 10, 2016, around the gazebo on Old Town Plaza from noon to 7:00 p.m., just east of Rio Grande Blvd. and north of Central Avenue. Admission is free, and you can buy a wristband for $5 to taste and vote for the various salsas from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m. Listen to great salsa bands on the Plaza, and try a little salsa dancing yourself!

Spice up your day at the Old Town Salsa Fiesta where you get to choose who has the best salsa in the City. Watch as contestants make their homemade salsa on site. The two categories for voting are professional and amateur, as local restaurants also compete for the “best salsa” award. Taste delicious salsas and vote for the ones you like best.

Enjoy free kids’ activities and dance to tunes by local salsa bands throughout the day. This year’s bands include Mala Mana, Terra Plena, and Sabor Canela. The final band for 2016 is national headliner Frankie Morales and the Albuquerque All-Stars, a large band of talented local musicians. Your memories of hearing this fabulous music will last a lifetime.
