Lunch at Zinc Wine Bar & Bistro on Monday was amazing. We had a coupon for “dinner for two” (or lunch, if we want) as part of a marketing program in which we participate.
Restaurants are becoming very creative with their offers. Zinc is offering a prix fixe menu for lunch for $17–choose one appetizer, one entree and one dessert, and beverages are included. I had the Onion Soup Gratinee, fish tacos with corn-avocado relish, and the cookie sampler plate (soft ginger cookie, vanilla shortbread, and an almond macaroon). All of it was wonderful and I couldn’t finish all of it, which is unusual for me. Let’s just say I have a healthy appetite. Steve had mussels as an appetizer, lamb mignon with a Brie-polenta cake and a squash medley. He opted for a cappuccino instead of a dessert, but I was happy to share my cookies.
You may think that $17 is more than you’d like to spend for lunch, but this was a really lovely lunch, complete with white linens, great decor, and delicious food. In fact, there was so much food that we skipped dinner completely that night.
Try Zinc for lunch, dinner, Sunday brunch, the cellar bar, or their live music events.
